BR-VT organizes the launching ceremony of the 45-day and night peak period of inspection and handling of violations of traffic safety regulations.

On the morning of September 23, at the Provincial Administrative - Political Center, the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee jointly organized the Launching Ceremony of the 45-day and night peak period of inspection and handling of violations that are the main causes of traffic accidents in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. This is an activity to implement Plan No. 689/KH-UBATGTQG dated December 19, 2023 of the National Traffic Safety Committee on ensuring traffic safety in 2024 with the theme "Respecting the law to build a culture of safe traffic".

 

Attending the launching ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Van Tho - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Traffic Safety Steering Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, localities in the province and all cadres, civil servants and public employees working in the Provincial Administrative Center.

 

Within the framework of the launching ceremony, representatives of the Provincial Police disseminated and thoroughly grasped the contents of Directive No. 35/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister on handling cadres, civil servants, public employees and soldiers in the armed forces who violate regulations on driving vehicles with alcohol concentration in blood or breath; not cooperating with functional forces in handling violations and Directive No. 06/CT-UBND of the Provincial People's Committee on strengthening the implementation of solutions to ensure traffic order and safety and reduce traffic accidents in the province.

The representative of the Department of Transport announced Plan No. 248/KH-BATGT on the implementation of a 45-day and night peak period to inspect and handle violations that are the main causes of traffic accidents in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province. According to the Plan, this peak period will be implemented synchronously and uniformly throughout the province from September 12, 2024 to October 27, 2024; focusing on 05 thematic groups: (1) Violating alcohol and drug concentrations; (2) Carrying goods that are overloaded, oversized, “extending” the vehicle’s body and carrying goods beyond the safe waterline; (3) Driving at a speed not in accordance with the prescribed speed; (4) Violating regulations on overtaking, road sections, lanes and not complying with traffic light signals (running red lights); (5) Not wearing a helmet or wearing a helmet that does not meet quality requirements, not fully equipped with rearview mirrors as prescribed (for motorbikes), not using signal lights when changing direction, not giving way in order of priority when entering intersections, going in the opposite direction...

 

Immediately after the launching ceremony, hundreds of officers and soldiers of the Traffic Police Department and local traffic police forces in the province simultaneously patrolled and set up many checkpoints to increase inspection and handle violations on routes where traffic accidents frequently occur.
